Come riconoscere un falso agente per modelle

 

Ciao ragazze, oggi me ne sto in camicia da notte a studiare. Quella che indosso, di Infiore, è così carina e comoda che la uso come abitino per stare in casa.

Vi voglio raccontare quello che mi è successo un paio di giorni fa: ho ricevuto una mail da un sedicente agente di Elite Model New York, che mi proponeva un contratto stratosferico e compensi da capogiro.

Ho scoperto dopo una serie di ricerche che era un falso agente, da cui stare alla larga e vorrei condividere con voi il risultato delle mie ricerche per evitare che qualcuna di noi, per ingenuità, possa cadere nella trappola di personaggi come questo.

Come si fa a capire se abbiamo a che fare con un vero agente o con un truffatore?

Ecco alcune tips per proteggerci dai falsi agenti:

1. E’ molto difficile che un vero agente ci contatti su Facebook o Instagram, di solito il manager di una famosa agenzia non ha tempo per queste cose, ma mettiamo che accada, come fare per capire se si tratta di una persona seria.
2. L’indirizzo email deve combaciare con quello della compagnia: ad esempio @elite.com. I veri agenti non usano mai indirizzi mail di Yahoo, Hotmail, o Google. Se un agente usa un’email che termina con gmail.com o hotmail.com dobbiamo insospettirci.
3. Contattiamo l’agenzia in questione direttamente: questi individui scrivono i recapiti reali dell’agenzia, sperando che vedendoli e confrontandoli con quelli del sito , la vittima sia rassicurata e non ritenga necessario controllare. La cosa più giusta da fare è chiamare l’agenzia e chiedere se quella persona lavora per loro: io l’ho fatto e mi hanno detto che era un truffatore. Ovviamente usate il numero presente sul sito dell’agenzia e non quello personale della persona che vi ha contattato.
4. Non mandate mai foto o video in biancheria intima o nude. Spesso questi personaggi iniziano con il chiedervi foto del vostro book, per poi passare all’intimo o ai nudi, probabilmente davanti ad una webcam, come hanno chiesto a me: non fatelo mai, anche se siete fortemente motivate ad ottenere quel lavoro. Nessun agente serio vi chiederà mai questo.

I want to share with you what happened to me a couple of days ago: I received a mail by an model agent, proposing me a contract with Elite Models New York’s agency.

After some searchs I found out that he was a faker and I want tho share with you my experience to avoid that somebody could fall in the trap of  fellows like him.

How can a model discern between what’s fake and what’s real?

Here are some tips to help you protect yourself and know how to separate the real agents from the fakes.

1. Real Agents & Scouts NEVER Scout Through Social Media

Real agents and scouts are much too busy managing their existing models and scouting on established modeling websites, they rarely, if ever, have time to search millions of photos on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or other social media sites looking for potential models.

But, let’s say you’ve been contacted – what should you do?

2. The Email Address Should Match The Company

When a real agent or scout contacts you by email their email address should match the company exactly. For example @elite.com. Real agents almost NEVER use email addresses from Yahoo, Hotmail, or Google accounts. If the person is using an email address that ends with gmail.com, hotmail.com, yahoo.com, etc. and not the company’s actual domain name, then you should be very suspicious.

3. Contact the Agency Directly

One of the tricks the fakers will use is to give you the real contact information for the companies they claim to represent. They are hoping that when you see that information in their email or post that you will take their word for it and won’t check them out. ALWAYS contact the company directly to verify that the person who contacted you actually works for the company. Remember to use the phone number or email address listed on the real company’s website or in the phone book. Do not use the contact information the potential faker sent you.

Don’t be afraid to verify the identity of the person who has contacted you. Real agents and scouts don’t mind if you check them out, and will actually respect you more if you do.

4. NEVER Send Underwear or Nude Shots

When a new model is contacted by a potential agent or scout they are often so excited that all common sense goes out the window. Don’t let your excitement get the better of you.

Fakers often start out by asking you to send regular modeling shots, then they will ask for shots of you in your bikini or underwear. Once they know you are willing to do that, the next thing you know they are asking you for nude shots or to pose naked on a webcam. OMG! Don’t ever do this!

REAL AGENTS WILL NEVER ASK YOU TO SEND UNDERWEAR OR NUDE PHOTOS OR TO POSE NAKED ON A WEBCAM.
